Jennifer Doiron
Bio
Jennifer Doiron joined MPRC in September of 2016. Throughout her career in Administrative and Program Management, she has supported and managed a full range of programs from development phase through full
implementation. She has taken a primary administrative role in a variety of settings from a small college environment, a government agency, and small businesses before joining the University of Maryland. In each environment, she has created, planned and documented procedures, developed manuals, worked with accounts receivables and payable and overall budget management. She has reviewed and adhered to contracts and served as the primary human resource officer for small businesses. She has served as a trainer, advocate, advisor and liaison. She has extensive leadership, event and program planning experience including in volunteer work as Fundraising Chair and for the music department at DeMatha HS as well as the President of the Instrumental Music Boosters Association for DeMatha.
Ms. Doiron’s experience has prepared her well for her position at the Maryland Population Research Center in the planning of the seminar series, travel arrangements, document review, budget tracking and other administrative, program management and financial support. Ms. Doiron has expanded her role at MPRC by taking a proactive, rather than reactive approach to the coordination of her duties. Instead of simply
processing the paperwork for the seminar speaker’s travel, she works individually with each speaker throughout the entire process. She collects all of the speaker’s topic and biographic information; places it on the website; prepares advertising; sends out invitations; solicits and schedules meetings with the speaker; arranges all travel ahead of time so that speaker does not need to worry about details or be burdened by a long reimbursement process; works with technical staff for media presentation; arranges all meeting space and
records all financial information. By taking a “cradle to grave” approach, Ms. Doiron is able to establish a relationship with each speaker; relieve administrative burdens on executive team, allowing greater focus on research collaboration, data management, and fiscal oversight. She has taken on additional Project Management and Grant Support work as well as needed.
